Twenty-nine years in the ground, one way of seeing it.

Josh Blair has spent twenty-nine years working hands-on in cultivation, learning soil the way it can only be learned, in the field, season after season. That work ran in parallel with subcontractor work on Intel semiconductor fabrication floors, not before it and not in place of it, two disciplines held at once rather than one giving way to the other.

That dual background shaped an unusual way of seeing soil. A fabrication floor tolerates no guesswork, every variable measured, controlled, and accounted for, and Blair brought that same expectation to the ground, treating a living biological system with the same precision and rigor as a controlled manufacturing environment rather than as a substrate to be dosed. Foundations of Life is where that thinking gets applied beyond any single crop or company, to the broader work of restoring soil, water, and food systems wherever synthetic dependency has taken their place.
